BeautyBay and FeelUnique Haul.

I went a little spending crazy on the websites BeautyBay.com and FeelUnique.com last Friday. I had seen several YouTube videos featuring these websites but not too many blog posts. I was automatically drawn to them because they sell products that are either not available in Ireland or are difficult to find. I was so overwhelmed by the amount of brands to choose from on both sites and I was also a little nervous spending my money on a site that I didn't know too much about. So here is what I got from both online stores and what I thought of their service :)

FeelUnique

So I went a bit YouTuber product crazy. I bought some Zoella Beauty a while back and really wanted to get some of her makeup bags. I'm going to use the smaller one for a pencil case when I go back to college and the other one for cosmetics. They are both really good quality. I also got some Tanya Burr lashes, these were on sale and exactly the style I wanted. I've yet to try them out but they have the clear band and doll eyed look that I love. Lastly I got Mary-Lou Manizer from TheBalm. I literally bought this because I've heard about it so much on online and it looks BEA-utiful.

I placed the order on Friday the 21st of August and received my package on Wednesday the 26th, so it came really quickly considering two of those days were the weekend. Navigating their site was really easy and checking out was quick and simple. The only issue was I was charged €15 for customs when my package was delivered. FeelUnique is a UK website and I live in Ireland, so I shouldn't have been charged customs at all. I wasn't the one who signed for my package but I'm going to have to look into that! Over all they were brilliant and apart from the extra charge issue I'd definitely shop with them again.

BeautyBay

There were so many brands on BeautyBay that are not available in store in Ireland. I really had to limit my purchases, I decided I would order more if I liked their service. So I bought the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit in light/medium and the Pro Beauty Blender! I bought the contour palette for my makeup kit as I really dont want to carry around loads of individual pots and products, plus this palette has had amazing reviews. As for the famous Beauty Blender, I've been using the Real Techniques sponge for some time now and I love it! So I decided to take the plunge and spend nearly 20 quid on a sponge *sigh*, why do I do this to myself. I have to say though I'm super excited to try it!!

I ordered from BeautyBay on Friday the 21st of August and recieved it today, Thursday the 27th of August. So again I was impressed with their super fast delivery. I had no problems using their site, checking out, delivery etc. So I'm already planning my next shopping spree with them, I love their site!!

Cruelty Free Cosmetics Guide.

A huge amount of cosmetic companies today are cruelty free, however many of the leading makeup brands do test their products on animals. By no means am I saying that all the makeup products that I buy or use are cruelty free but as of the last few weeks I'm trying to make more informed decisions when buying cosmetics, because in reality a bunny rabbit shouldn't have to pay for me wanting to wear eyeliner. A lot of companies may not directly test on animals but their suppliers might, so technically those brands are not cruelty free. I'm going to list my favourite cruelty free cosmetic brands below and a link to their site or to PETA's where they state their products are cruelty free. I'm aware that there are many more brands that don't test on animals but there are too many to list, so I'm just going to reference my favourites.

Before I start some of these cosmetic companies parent companies are not cruelty free, but I will let you know that in each case. All of the information I'm going to list I have found online. It is your own decision whether you want to shop cruelty free (all of my cosmetics are not). Each brand name is clickable and will lead you to area of the site where their animal testing ethos is explained.

Urban Decay: I was so happy to see that Urban Decays products are cruelty free. I absolutely love their eyeshadows, eyeliners, concealers etc. Its such a popular and well known brand and cruelty free! However Urban Decay is owned by L'Oreal, their parent company is not cruelty free.

Too Faced: Having only recently launched in Ireland, their popularity is really growing in Europe. Their products are fabulous and their brushes are made from 100% Teddy Bear Hair!

TheBalm: I'm not going to lie I haven't tried many products from TheBalm, however I love the products I do own and there is an order on the way to my house *eek*. If you look at the very bottom of their website you can see they are listed as cruelty free.

Smashbox: Famous for their primers Smashbox cosmetics is listed as cruelty free. However their parent company Estee Lauder do test on animals because like many other brands they sell to the Chinese market.

Lush: Bath bombs, soaps, bubble bars etc. are all cruelty free. Lush don't test on animals and don't buy products from suppliers that test on animals either.

Makeup Geek: All of Makeup Geeks products and ingredients are cruelty free. Most of their products are vegan too, apart from several products listed on their site that contain Carmine.

ELF Cosmetics: Super affordable, brilliant quality and cruelty free! However I'm pretty sure there are some issues with ELF's UK website that also ships to Ireland. Not sure what is going on.

Gosh: Although this company seems to be fading in terms of popularity they do have a really good selection of makeup products. I used to love Gosh so much, and they are listed as cruelty free.

NYX: I have fallen head over heels in love with NYX products since they started selling them in my local pharmacy and online in Ireland. The price point and quality are amazing!

Barry M: I love Barry M dazzle dusts and their nail polishes. They are pretty affordable and have a huge range of colours.

Soap & Glory: I'm a little hesitant about putting this company on my list because although they do not test on animals they cannot 100% guarantee that their ingredients haven't been. However they do have a list of vegan products listed on their site.

The Body Shop: Their parent company is Loreal which does unfortunately test on animals. However the Body Shop are cruelty free, they have a very passionate article about being cruelty free on their site.

Real Techniques: One of my favourite and most used brushes are cruelty free! They state that all of their products are 100% cruelty free.

Eco Tools: Another company that sells cruelty free brushes, I have several Eco Tools brushes and I love them. Plus they are super affordable.

Sigma: I'm aware that not all Sigma brushes are cruelty free however they do sell amazing vegan brushes that are, and they are definitely worth checking out!

I'm hoping this was helpful to some of you. If I have left out any major companies please leave them in the comments (writing them all out would take years :P). Again I don't shop 100% cruelty free by any means but I will definitely be trying to buy more from these cruelty free brands rather than those that test on animals in the future.

New Skincare Favourite! Soap & Glory Face Massage Mini Mitt

I'm definitely a spur of the moment purchaser. If your product has eye catching packaging or a cute name I'm automatically drawn to it, and unfortunately for my bank account I'll probably also buy it too. This was one of those products that I wasn't looking for, hadn't researched but just found on the shelf of Boots. Its full title is the Soap & Glory Face Massage Mini Mitt. It is advertised as a face massage type product which I guess it is but I prefer to use it for something else. This product claims to increase blood flow to your face which will improve the appearance of your skin.

Now I'm not one to massage my face (lets be honest, who does?). I'm partial to the odd facial but that's as far as my face massaging goes. However when I remove my makeup I like my face to feel really clean afterwards, with not a shred of makeup left on it. The only thing is my skin doesn't like exfoliators, brushes etc. I get a horrible red rash whenever I use them. If your anything like me, you are going to LOVE this product.

The picture doesn't do the product justice because it looks like its made from the same plastic as a comb. Hand on my heart this is the softest rubber I have ever felt, super soft and really comfortable to rub on your skin. You can have a feel in the shop as the little rubber pieces are exposed in the packaging. I bought it because I thought if I added a blob of cleanser to the top then this would be the ideal makeup remover, and it was!

I mainly use the area with the longer rubber pieces but there is also a flatter area that really does give a lovely massage. I'm finding it difficult to explain the softness of this tool because the picture doesn't really do it justice. I think a gel foaming cleanser would work the best with this, I've been using my Estee Lauder Gelee Face Wash and these two are a match made in skincare heaven. This little tool also has a handle type thing on the back that I place between my middle and ring fingers. This gives the perfect grip and allows you to remove your makeup (and massage your face) with ease.

So essentially your getting two benefits from using one tool, you'll have increased blood flow to your face making it more beautiful than it already is, and it removes your makeup with ease. You could definitely use this in the morning as well, I think it would really wake up your skin and give it some life. I feel like I've told everyone and their mother this past week about this product but its amazing! I will definitely be featuring it in this months favourites. The device is also super flexible and bendy, as are the little rubber extensions. So you really can get into every groove of your face and make sure your skin is squeaky clean before you leave the shower.

So if your the kind of girl that has sensitive skin, wanted to use face brushes but were too scared? Definitely give it a go. It really cheap too, mine was only €5.49 in Boots. And if you don't believe me about its softness, have a feel of one next time you pass Soap and Glory... You wont be disappointed! <3

Bath Time with Zoella Beauty

So I was strolling around Penneys (Primark) the other day and nearly passed out when I spotted some Zoella beauty in their cosmetic section. Now as far as I am aware Zoella beauty is not available in store to purchase anywhere in Ireland but is available on feelunique.com. Naturally I had to pick up something from her range when I was there and give it a try. I was actually really excited when I saw her products as I was totally not expecting to see them in Penneys. This is her older collection but it was all that was available, and these were the only two products in store. They were €6 each, which is not too bad :)

Fizz Bar: So this is basically a bath bomb divided up like a chocolate bar, so you break off a piece each time you want to use it. There are six large squares in each bar. I'm not sure what type of scent I was expecting from Zoella but this is definitely not it. However I absolutely LOVE it, the scent reminds me somewhat of the Michael Kors Jasmine fragrance. When I opened the packing the scent hit me immediately. It fizzed well in my bath however it did fizz out very quickly. I was tempted to throw another square in but I resisted the temptation (I didn't want to waste it :P). Another thing I loved is that it gave my bathroom a gorgeous perfumed scent which was amazing. Overall I was so impressed with this product and will defintely buy it again when I use it up.

Soak Opera: This is a bath soak and shower cream. It has the same scent as the fizz bar but much much lighter in intensity. It lathers up really nicely with a loofah and the scent does intensify once it starts to lather properly. It has such a creamy texture and is really moisturising, it definitely wont dry your skin out. If you like a really strongly scented body wash this probably isn't for you, but I prefer a lather and soft scent because too much fragrance can irritate my skin.

I'm actually really impressed with Zoella's beauty line. So much so that I'm browsing online for what I'm going to buy next, those makeup bags are calling my name!! Essentially you are buying the products for Zoella's name, but I'm all about supporting YouTubers. Lastly I forgot to mention the packaging, I love it! Really cute pastel colours with splashes of neon and rose gold writing. If you love Zoella then you really need to try these out! <3

Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette, First Impression.

This morning I picked up the Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette, god that name is a mouthful. As some of you may know Too Faced Cosmetics has just launched in Ireland in the last few weeks *rejoice*. Although its only a tiny cardboard stand in the middle of  Debenhams cosmetic halls it has caused quite a stir. Now the amount of products in store is quite limited but there are waaay more products available online at debenhams.ie. I was going in to buy the original chocolate bar palette but when I spotted the three Semi Sweet palettes to the back of the stand I honestly had palpitations. Too Faced has been so raved about so much online in the Blogging and YouTube communities so when I heard they were coming here I was super excited, but also expecting a lot from their products. So I rushed home and put it straight on my face just so I could do a first impression!

I love the pancaking of this product, its quite similar to Naked 3. This is product does contain Cocoa in its ingredients and oh my god it smells delicious. I'm also really impressed with the pan size of the shadows because they are really big, and the large highlight shades are an amazing idea. I also love the colour names! So my first impression appearance wise was that I loved it, and its the first eyeshadow palette I own that smells like it is edible.

In terms of the application the shadows are so smooth and buttery while not compromising on the pigmentation at all. You really could create so many different looks for day and night. I also liked the diversity of cool and warm toned shades. I did use a primer when applying these shades and that was MAC's Painterly Paintpot. The shadows all blended beautifully and I really didn't need to build up the colour too much because of how pigmented they were. I bought the palette for €47 ($52) at Debenhams which is right around the price of the Urban Decay Naked palettes.

The shades I used from the palette were Licorice, Coconut Creme, Truffled, Peanut Butter, Blueberry Swirl, Mousse, Caramel and Butter Pecan. So I feel for a first impression I really got to use a good variety of the shadows in this look. The standout colours for me were Peanut Butter, Blueberry Swirl and Caramel. This was mainly because I don't have many if any shades like these in my collection. I'm so impressed with this palette and I will DEFINITELY be picking up the original palette (and of course all the melted lipsticks ;) So if you haven't already got this, you need it.

Just in-case you were wondering I'm wearing Rimmel's Tiramisu lip liner and MAC Hue lipstick. My brows do need to be tamed but I'm wearing MAC's Dipdown gel liner in them. Foundation is L'Oreal true match and I'm wearing the Kiss Lashes in Diva 02. If you haven't tried these lashes you really should. I'm usually an Ardell Demi Wispie girl but at €7+ a pop they aren't always realistic to be wearing. These have the clear band I love and cost only €3.50. I got mine in Penneys (Primark).

I would love to know what Too Faced products you think I should purchase next? I'm so excited to buy more products from this brand and I'd really love to hear all your recommendations!

Hair and Beauty Saviours.

We all have those days and moments when we really need a product to save our souls. That may sound dramatic but when you have greasy hair and your skin looks like crap, yet you have woken up 10 minutes before you are supposed to leave for work? Yes you need help. I'm going to share with you products that save me on a daily and weekly basis. Excuse the random picture above but I saw pretty flowers, photographed them and wanted to display them somewhere....

My hair saviours are really basic. I'll just give some hair background before I begin; I have long hair that is naturally brown in colour but I have highlighted it for the past six years. So my natural hair is oily but because of the chemical damage the ends are a lot drier. Lets begin..

Batiste Dry Shampoo: Is my holy grail couldn't live without ever hair product. Batiste saves me several times a week. I try not to wash my hair more than 2-3 times a week because I don't want to dry it out. I'm also fond of my sleep so I wake up really last minute, and if my hair gets greasy overnight I don't always have time to shampoo it. Plus its like perfume for your hair. If your lazy, you need Batiste.

L'Oreal Mythic Oil: This saves my hair when its the opposite to above. This makes my hair feel sooo soft. I put a few pumps in my hair after I've washed it and combed it through. It really nourishes and softens my hair. I've tried so many things and this is the only thing that stops my hair from drying out and makes it feel unbelievably soft.

Tangle Teezer: Long hair = tangly hair. Its inevitable and brushing my hair used to lead to half of it coming out and serious breakage. I read rave reviews on this product but I though it was so expensive for a comb. I would buy this 100 times over now because it makes brushing my hair so much less painful, reduces the breakage and barely any hair comes out.

Bobby pins, bobbins and those hair grip things are always in my handbag. If I decide to wear my hair down and it annoys me I hate not having the option to tie it up. I wear my hair up majority of the time and bobby pins save me daily too, especially when a random piece of hair decided to evacuate my pony tail.

So as I said before I all too often wake up way to late to do a full face of makeup. I have combination/ oily skin and even if I'm running super late I do prefer to wear something on my face.

Garnier BB Cream: This makeup is zero effort. With a brush or your fingers you can throw it on in two minutes. It always gives such an even finish and is so easy to blend. It gives the perfect amount of coverge really quick and easy.

MAC Brow Gel: Lets face it unless you have gorgeous full brows you need a little help. Tinted brow gel gives your brows an instant lift and makes them appear more full in a minute. Perfect for preventing a bald brow day. Its also amazing for touch ups when your out and you seem to have lost half your eyebrow, its a saviour.

Sleek Blush In Rose Gold: This blush adds colour to your face but also a highlight. It just brightens up your face and adds more dimension in seconds.

Maybelline Matte Maker: If your like me and look in the mirror half way through day and an oily monster stares back, you'd hope to have mattifying powder in your handbag. I never go anywhere without my powder, and if I do it usually ends in a (shiny) disaster.

MAC Fix+: When your in a rush and you throw on your makeup, but youve caked that powder on? Fix+ will sort you out in a spray. Ideal for sorting that cakey look without having to take all your makup off. Its also great for refreshing your makeup in a hurry, the travel size is ideal for your makeup bag and can really help refresh your makeup when your out.

Tinted Rose Vaseline: Vaseline is and has always been my favourite lip balm. If you leave one in your handbag it will add instant colour to your lips when you either don't have time for lipstick, or it has worn off. This is a handbag staple for me that can really bring my look back to life throughout the day. Plus it stops that dry, chapped lip look that no one likes.

What are your hair and makeup products that help you out of  possible disasters and save you time? I'm always on the hunt for products that will save me when I'm stuck as I love to have a quick fix to hand! Most of these makeup products aside from the bb cream end up in my makeup bag as they are ideal for touchups too <3

Arm Jewellery Staples.

In terms of jewellery I'm generally very minimal. I don't buy it very often, and to be honest most of my jewellery was given as gifts. When I do decide to put some on I like to keep it simple. I prefer gold but I do like to mix metals and add some silver in there. All the pictures I'm going to show are my go to staple pieces. I will link websites where possible but I'll definitely let you know where I bought it and you'll be able to get something similar on their site. Hope you enjoy :)

I love these dainty bracelets. I bought them in H&M and there was about three or four in a pack. They were only €7/€8 too! These are ideal for stacking with other bracelets or you can wear them by themselves for something really simple. I absolutely love this type of design. If you have a childsized wrist like me these will still fit you perfectly! I have found a similar design here.

I love Alex & Ani bracelets. I was so late jumping on the bandwagon with these, I only got them about 2 months ago but I honestly have been wearing them so often. I have the letter design, the starfish and the compass. These definitely look best when they are stacked together, they are also gorgeous when you mix the different coloured metals together. They are so simple and effortless to wear, loooove them.

I got this Guess watch for my 19th birthday from my parents. Its gold with a few diamantes on it and has a leather strap. The leather strap has a subtle animal print with gold threading. I find it so hard to find watches that fit me because I have a ridiculously small wrist. So this was ideal because I could punch extra holes in it. This design isnt available anymore but there are similar designs on the Guess website. This watch is one of the few things I wear almost everyday. It goes with virtually all my other jewellery and I'm in love with it.

These two rings are the only jewellery I wear every day without fail. I never take them off. I don't wear them both on the same finger I just have them like this to show them to you. I actually wear the branch shaped one on the same finger on my other hand, and its not a midi ring its just a normal one. They are both from Pandora and I got the heart ring from my boyfriend and the branch ring from my parents. I generally forget I'm wearing them because they never come off. They are silver but I really like how they mix with the gold jewellery. The branch ring actually has one gold coloured leaf. I have found a similar branch ring on their website and this is the exact heart ring. These rings have worn so well considering I never take them off. They havent tarnished at all and still look brand new.

If you have any jewellery suggestions for me I'd love if you've leave me a link. I'd like to expand my collection a little more and start experimenting and wearing more jewellery <3

Tattoos and Piercings.

So I decided to do a sort of tag post about my tattoos and piercings. I'm not going to follow any set questions I'm just going to talk to you about what I have. I'm so nosy and love reading more personal posts about bloggers lives, I especially LOVE tattoo and piercing posts/ videos.

I feel like tattoos are like permanent accessories (and piercings to some extent) and some people have the most beautiful art on their bodies. They people feel as beautiful as applying makeup every morning does for some. I understand tattoos and piercing are not for everyone so if you don't like them feel free to read my other beauty related posts :)

Piercings:
My piercings are very minimal. As I'm writing this I've just remembered I don't have a picture of my bellybutton piercing included (oops) but its pretty self explanatory. I have my lobes pierced but to be honest I rarely wear earrings in them.

I have my tragus pierced for about three years now and I absolutely love it! I'm not going to lie it hurt so badly when I got it pierced, my jaw for some reason ached for so long afterwards. However it healed super quickly. I know a lot of people have had issues with this piercing rejecting but I haven't thank god! I change the jewellery occasionally but right now its just a plain silver labret stud. My second ear piercing is my forward helix. I had my helix pierced before with a gun but it rejected, so about two months ago I got this piercing done. It still hasn't healed but I found it wasn't a painful piercing at all! I got all of my piercings now done with a needle. (left: forward helix, right: tragus)

Tattoos:
Generally peoples tattoos have a personal meaning to them, that's why my blood boils when people post rude comments about other peoples bodies! That aside I have four tattoos in total. I had my first at 19 and I am now 21 years old. All of them are in black and all the pictures I'm posting are from my instagram (@laurenaudreyc) hence all the different lighting, colours, editing etc.

My first tattoo was on my ribs on my left hand side. It has a heart, an ECG symbol and the word Faith. I did see this tattoo on tumblr but it fit the meaning I wanted so perfectly. The heart stands for good times in your life, the ECG symbol stands for bad times and the word faith is at the end. So the heart is for the good times in life. The ECG is for the bad times, when I was 11 I went into respiratory arrest, was  paralysed and unable breathe but I remained conscious. Without going into too much detail it was post minor surgery and a life changing moment, and I have suffered with panic attacks and anxiety since. The word Faith is in my Mums handwriting.  The poem "Doubt sees the obstacles faith sees the way" talks basically about how even bad times in life can become good times if you have faith in yourself and others.

Next I got the infinity symbol on my left inner wrist. Its really small but I love it. I got it with my best friend since childhood and it means forever. I then got a tattoo on my right forearm on the side. Its an arrow and I got it when I went to Australia on holiday last Christmas. If you click here you will see the paragraph on have written on Instagram explaining this ones meaning. The only problem with this placement is unless my arm is down perfectly straight the position of it always moves and it can look crooked.

My most recent tattoo is a quote on my left inner foot, it says "Somewhere over the rainbow". When I was younger I would ask where my grandparents had gone after they passed away and my Mum used to say they were somewhere over the rainbow. A very close family member of mine passed away very suddenly this year and at her mass they played this song. So this tattoo has so much meaning behind it and I absolutely love it. Excuse the picture but taking a pretty picture of a foot isn't the easiest thing to do!

I would absolutely love if you would share with me tattoos that you already have or would like to get. Also please leave a link to your tattoo blog post if you have one because I would love to read it <3

Beauty & Life Favs, July.

So the end of July has come and gone, much quicker than expected! Now we are coming to the end of the summer, even though the Irish summer ended after the three days of sunshine we got. So I'm going to share with you my monthly favourites for July. I have a few different bits and pieces from each catagory but I'm going to throw them all together in one post, Enjoy!

Beauty Favourites:
  • Rimmel Wonder'full mascara is amazing. It is infused with argan oil and has a gorgeous formula. The first few times I just loved how it made my lashes look but my lashes have become so soft and silky when I'm not wearing it. LOVE,  I have a review of it previously on my blog.
  • MAC Dipdown Gel Liner and 208 Brush have been my holy grail brow products. This brush and product have given me really crisp defined brows that last all day, seriously the best brow products I've ever used.
  • MAC Fix+ is such a multi functional product. Mine is nearly empty and I've used it more than ever this month. I have to use powder to set my face because of my oily skin, this really helps to get rid of the really powdery look. Its also amazing for use on your brush to intensify shadows, on your beauty blender etc!
  • Another favourite is the MAC High Light powder in Freshen Up. It is from the Wash & Dry collection that came out this summer. I love to wear peach/ coral blush. This is the perfect highlight to complement it. It gives a beautiful coral sheen to the cheek, you can make it as natural or as intense as you like depending on what colour you focus on when applying. I'm pretty sure you cant still buy this online unfortunately.

Fashion Favourite:
I can say I have worn these sunglasses virtually everyday this month. Excuse the blurring on the lenses but I there was an extremely unattractive looking reflection in them! These are the Ray Ban Round Icon I believe. They are super comfortable and have a really vintage feel. I love sunglasses, I seriously cannot drive without them. These are really good at blocking out the sun (duh) while being comfy and stylish all at once.

Program Favourites: I love watching documentaries and series. I become quite addicted to them, I love nothing more than sitting in my bed and watching Netflix all day. My current Netflix favourites are Orange Is the New Black Season 3 and Louis Theroux Documentaries. T.V favourite is Bones. I've been at home sick from work all week and have watched telly/ netflix all day everyday, simple as.

Favourite Music: Taylor Swift of course! I've had her album 1989 since it came out but because of Bad Blood being played constatly on every radio station I've revisted it. I've also been loving Ed Sheeran and Kodaline this month too. I was lucky enough to see them last weekend together in Croke Park. If youve never heard of Kodaline I recommend checking out the songs All I Want and High Hopes, they are an Irish band and I know you'll love them.
